Charity Opening Nights Of Ego@ The Bulls Head Horbury

In March 2017 the Bulls Head Horbury had an extensive refurbishment and Re-Opened as Ego@The Bulls Head Horbury.  The results are remarkable and having been to the Bulls Head many times before I can assure you it has been re-fitted to an unrecognisable restaurant of high quality.    The opening celebration was held over two nights and meals were offered at a subsidised rate and 100% of everything taken in payment for meals was shared and donated to two local charities.  The Andy Chapman Fund &The Samantha Sykes Foundation Trust was selected as one of the recipients and six of the  SSFT Trustees attended the opening night and as well as the much improved venue I can assure anyone the food was of a very high quality, I did not hear a single negative comment everybody went home more than satisfied.  We have been back since and it is still living up to early expectations, in fact every time I pass the car park is full which is a great sign, we wish them luck.

We recently went to collect the funds raised and manager Craig Humphriss, on behalf of Ego@,   gave us the £1000.  This is a tremendous amount and will go such a long way to help vulnerable young people who have either been in the care system or victims of Child Sexual Exploitation.  We have a lot going on at the moment with young people who need our support and Craig and the team at Ego@ should be aware the amount raised will go directly to local young people who are in need of support.  The £1000 will supply educational material in the form of books for around five students and also one young person, who has been in the social care system and has no parental or family support.  This young lady requires help and funding so she can complete her course.  She has to undertake a placement that required funding and without  support she could not complete her studies.  In the last month we have spent £945.45p with Huddersfield University helping around six young people so the £1,000 will cover that with a little change.

Anyone who supported the two evenings should be proud reading this.  Craig and his team did their part with a well-co-ordinated evening and of course donating everything financially but without the customers over the two evenings it would not have happened.  So on behalf of everyone at the Samantha Sykes Foundation, and I am sure The Andy Chapman Fund.  we thank all of the customers and of course all of the staff at Ego   If you have not tried it yet visit their website and of course go and try it for yourselves.  They have some great offers, as an example Mondays you can get a 2 course meal and a FULL BOTTLE of wine EACH for less than £20 per person… you can even take any left-over wine home with you !!!!!

Finally on behalf of myself and everyone at The Samantha Sykes Foundation can we pass on our condolences to Andy Chapmans friends and family.  Unfortunately Andy passed away not long after the evening.
