Barnett Waddington Coffee Morning Raises £750

A few weeks ago, Leeds based Barnett Waddington held a coffee morning and raised an incredible £750, which they donated to the Samantha Sykes Foundation Trust.   The team at Barnett Waddington have raised money for various charities over the years and it was great to see our name on their list of recipients.  Our Trustee Eric Sykes called in to the Leeds office to receive a cheque and meet some of the team who raised the funds.

The Samantha Sykes Foundation Trust are very busy currently and we in the process of supporting one new young person and we are also supporting two young people we helped previously.  One of the young persons, who was a care leaver, was living on the streets.  With funding supplied by us that young person is now in their second year of further education at Huddersfield University and is in supported living.  We received a request for some necessary computer equipment for the young person’s course and the money raised by Barnett Waddington will go directly to help that person.  It is always heartening to know that the funds raised help people like these.  With no family support  this young person would  not have had the opportunity to access further education, and although The Samantha Sykes Foundation distributes the funding it would be impossible without people who fund raise funds on our behalf.

On behalf of the people we help and the team here at The Samantha Sykes Foundation we thank everyone at Barnett Waddington for their generosity.
